How to configure email forwarding

You may find life easier if you arrange for a copy of your scouts email to be forwarded to your personal address, that way you don't have to keep logging in all the time to check.

1) Sign in to http://mail.13thtwickenhamscouts.org using your username@13thtwickenhamscouts.org

2) Open the "Settings" page  - click on the cog-wheel icon (top-right) and choosing "Settings"

3) Choose the "Forwarding and POP/IMAP" section.

Press the "Add a forwarding address" button and enter your personal email address.

Press "Next" and follow the instructions.  A message will be sent to your personal address containing a link.

You need to visit your personal email, open the message and click on that link to confirm that the address exists and is yours.

4) Having done this, go back to the "Forwarding and POP/IMAP" settings and select the "Forward a copy of incoming mail to" button.

Select your confirmed email address in the drop-down list to the right of it.

On the "and" drop-down list, choose "keep 13th Twickenham Scout Group Mail's copy in the Inbox".

When you deal with email in this way, it's very easy to just reply directly from your personal email - try to resist this.  Just use the forwarded copies as a reminder that you need to log in to scouts and deal with the message.  If you reply from your personal mail it will not only give away your personal address but put you in the situation where you may have some replies in amongst your personal mail and some in the scouts one, and keeping track of everything will become a lot harder!
